Planting olive seedlings isa kind exremely common in Turkey and it is considered to be the best salamurised- salted olives. When the Domat Olive type is evaluated in terms of industrial production , it is mostly used as stuffed olives and also it is a very valubale olive. In recent years , salted type of this olive made by removing the core and filling it with pepper , carrot and almond has been highly demanding.

Tree Features

Domat Olive tree is a medium seized variety. Tac structure of the tree provides a wide and regular development. Sedlings grow from lows and become wide and when they become mature enough they are halfly upright. Domat Olive is a strong growing variety. The branch structure of the tree has a floppy and frequent branching system. For good growth and high yield , planting it on the field with clay soil is better. Establishing the garden plant is more convenient on the fields having the possibility of irrigating Domat Olive.

Fruit Features
Fruit is medium sizeand the amount of pulp is nearly 89 %. Its oil rate is 23 % and its grain is large and pulpy. It ıs generally considered as salted ( salamuralic) olive.

Periodisity Features
The Periodisity feature of this variey is little.

Fruit Yield
Due to the fact that the periodisity of this olive is little , after cmpleting its development ,it provides an opportunity to obtain a consistent amount of product.

Geographic Distribution
The regions in Turkey in terms of Domat Olive Cultivation are Akhisar , Turgutlu and Saruhanlı in Manisa ; Kemalpaşa , Selçuk and especially the city centre in İzmir; Soke , Karacasu , Kuyucak , Buharkent and its main city Efeler in Aydın. Recently , it has been common to establish garden plant in some of the other cities such as Antalya , Adana , Mersin , Sanlıurfa and Gaziantep.

While establishing Domat Olive Garden , planting range for flat areas is considered to be as 6 x6.

Seedling Production
The production of olive saplings is made in two ways : ( çelikleme) or vaccination ( graft ) methods. The production of Domat Olive is only made by vaccination ( graft) methods. To produce vaccinated ( grafted) olive tree seedlings , eryngiums ( any seed-grown bushes9 are obtain on special breedind conditions by obtaining seeds from delicate olive trees and these erngiums are planted in tubes and grown till vaccinating ( grafting) period. Spot vaccination is done to these eryngiums by the samples taken from the target variety. Blooming of these spot vaccinated saplings are grown and sold as Domat Olive splings.
