Sarı Lop ( Calimyrna)Fig is alsocalled as White fig or Yemiş in some regions. Its first certificated name was Sarı Lop Fig Sapling but after long term studies , its licence has been taken again as Aydın Fig.

Tree Features
It is about 7-8 metres tall and 8-9 metres wide with sparse branched. Its crown is first upright, then splayed and finally floopy.It hastuberous body.Its leaves are huge and has 5 sliced parts.

Fruit Features
Its first fruits(yellop) can not be pollinated as there is no pollen during that period so its fruits fall down. Rarely a few give fruit parthenocarpically. Its moisture portion is 22-24% and sugar (sucrose) portion is abot 50-55%. Its ruits are round and flattened and they weigh about 65-70 grams and their fruit diameter is 55-60 millimeter. Its first ripening is in late July and early August. Its ripening is completed at the end of September.Wile fresh harvesting , its fruit stal is left on the tree. Its skin colour is yellow and it can be peled easily. Its seeds are medium in size.There is no spare in fruit inside for Aydın Fig.Its stiol is clear. Its fruits are sweet with a unique aroma.

Sarı Lop (Calimyrna) Fig Sapling Plantation Areas
It is commonly grown in Aydın and the cities nearby. Its Garden establishing for fresh consumption can be done in any areas with dry climate conditions. However for gaining dry fig , its plantation should be done in the areas where is both have terrestial and marine climate conditions in the same day as in Aydın.

Yielding
Its yielding is relatively high. There is certainly no periodisity in Sarı Lop variety so regular yielding every year is possible.

Dry Fig
It can be produced only from Sarı Lop ( Calimyrna) and its fruit colour is yellow-close to White andı t is with small seeds as well as it is so sweet. Because of its thin skin it is adventageous in terms of drying technology and quality parameters.

Plantating Distance
It is generally done as 6x6 for plain areas. However it should be 5x5 for slopy areas for garden establishing.

Commercial Value
It is a kind of variety which has an important commercial value bacause not only it can be consumed as fresh fig butalso it is the only fig variety which can beconsumed dry. It is produced for drying.Some of them can be consumed as fresh table fig.They are suitable for instant freezing with its complete fruit and skin . Its national and international demand has increased incredibilyso it gives opportunity to our farmers. Therefore,the demand for Sarı Lop ( Calimyrna) Fig Sapling has increased so much that its plantation areas are expanding day by day.

Harvesting Period
Its ripening starts in late July and early August, it comes to top in late August and completes its ripening at the end of September. Its harvesting period lasts for 40-45 days.

Pollinaters
Its second fruits are the main fruits and certainly should be pollinated.ıts pollination is provided with ilekleme( the process , done by taking some fruits from male figs and haging them in appropriate rate on the other trees). This proceesis done usually attthe end of June.
